Neurocritical Care Advanced Practice Provider

Company: University of Florida Health Shands
Department: Neurology
Position: Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner
Region: Florida

Description:
This is your opportunity to join a vibrant, growing neurointensive care team! University of Florida Health Shands is currently seeking advanced practice providers for our neurocritical care program.  Join a growing group of APPs, faculty, residents, and fellows in a busy and expanding academic program as we transition to a brand-new state of the art Neuromedicine hospital housing a 48-bed neuroICU, all while enjoying the benefits of living in Florida.

We are seeking to hire Advanced Practice Providers – NPs or PAs with critical care, neurology/neurosurgery or neurocritical care experience to build our new neurocritical care team.

Our advance practice model offers 24/7 coverage of our complex neurocritically ill patients. As vital members of the team, the APP will work with the neurocritical care intensivists/faculty, fellows, residents, and existing APPs to provide independent evidence-based care in an academic institution. Key duties will include physical assessment, development and implementation of diagnostic and therapeutic plans, interpretation of physical exam laboratory, imaging, and physiologic data and clinical documentation. Procedures (central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, bronchoscopy, intubation and airway management etc.) will also be performed by the APP.

We are currently hiring with the goal of 24/7 neuroICU APP coverage – day, night, and weekend shifts will be divided amongst the group. Scheduling availability includes day/night rotating 12-hour shifts, or a night only shift schedule with shift and weekend differentials.

We are participating in many stroke and neurocritical care local investigator-initiated and multi-center research studies, and strongly encourage participation in scientific research and education by the APP.

Robust compensation package is offered commensurate with University standards.
