This is an excellent educational opportunity for any “nurse leader” – the speakers are great!  I am part of the Educational Committee and I am SO excited to hear the nationally known speakers talk to our Nurse Executives.  I would encourage ANY leader in the nursing profession to attend, it is WELL worth it!

1. Register for the FONE/TBONE Research Pre Conference and two day FONE Conference, November 8-10th at the Rosen Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

ANCC CEU’s provided; nationally known Keynote speakers; FONE Research Grant Award, Annual Excellence Award presentations for Leadership, Practice, Research, Education and our new award for Precepting/Mentorship. Exhibitor fair with cutting edge healthcare programs and presentations, universities and schools of nursing offering special pricing and benefits for FONE members; FONE Annual Meeting and Installation of Officers and new Regional Directors for Regions I, III and IV. Network with colleagues at the Chapter and State level.

Our TBONE Chapter is the co-host for this event and we welcome them!

Keynotes include Dr. Karen Buck from the University of South Florida, Dr. Beth Ulrich, a recognized expert in innovations in quality and safety. Lisa Allen PHD, Chief Patient Experience Officer at Johns Hopkins Medicine, Baltimore will speak on improving the patient experience and Jonathan Fanning, national speaker and author will focus on use of innovation in leadership practices. 1. FONE Annual ElectionOnline voting for candidates for Regional Directors (Regions I, III and IV) online voting continues through July 28th. Candidates will be notified of results once voting results are provided by our independent voting vendor. Officers will be installed at the FONE Conference on November 10th.

1. Extended FONE Call for Applications for the 2017 Research Grant Award.

The Research Grant Award program is now in its ninth year! See the FONE website www.foneorg.com. Applications can be received by July 28th to receive $2000 from the FONE Foundation Inc. for supporting projects in research and evidence-based practice. One award will be presented in 2017 upon successful review by our Research/EBP Committee.

1. FONE 2017 Scholarship Award.

One award in the amount of $2,500.00 will be awarded to the successful FONE member applicant of the 2017 scholarship application program. Funds are provided through the FONE Foundation Inc. and support our goal to advance our members formal education. See the FONE Website for the application form and program timeline.

5. FONE Excellence Awards

 FONE members are invited to nominate colleagues for our prestigious awards for excellence in leadership, practice, research, education and the new award for excellence in mentoring/precepting. See the FONE website for nomination forms, candidate data sheet and program timeline. Nominations are due to info@foneorg.com on July 28th.
