Hurricane Marie Puerto Rico - VFAPNC Donations - No Borders for Hope -- Volunteer Assistance needed
Posted over 6 years ago by Angeline Bushy
All,
Based on the discussion Monday evening (Sep. 25) for our Christmas activity, we agreed to to support an organization that is making donations to the above disaster. Ariana Gross identified the "NO Boarders for Hope" in Flagler as a contact agency (see details below). The executive committee can make decisoins regarding initiatives under $500.00; thus, we decided to support this group.
Since they do not want financial donations, a sincere thanks to Deb DiChiara, Fe Roster & Ariana who have visited numerous Dollar Stores in the area to purchase the requested products/items (under $500.00 total). We will not be required to pay shipping costs by delivering our donations to the site before the date indicated.
In order to meet the deadline to donate, I am asking for volunteers to assist in 'stuffing zip lock bags" on Monday - October 2 at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm - at the UCF Daytona campus - Building 150 - Suite 200 (located on Daytona Sate Campus). Please let me know if you are willing and able to assist. All assistance is appreciated - this is an opportunity to make your Christmas contribution.
Send an email to me if you plan to assist - angeline.bushy@ucf.edu
Also, if you wish to contribute additional products you can bring those items on Monday morning or take them directly to the No Boarders For Hope location in Flalger.
FYI: Batteries of all sizes were in short supply at Dollar Stores especially size C & D should you desire to contribute to the cause, along with pesonal and hygenice items.
Hope to see several of you on Monday morning (Oct 2.) to help pakage the donated items.
